Private Photo Guide

Planning a visit to Tuscany or the Cinque Terre area? Do you want to be in the right place at the right time? Not to waste a single morning or evening? Not to miss any well-known location and visit places that almost nobody knows? To take photos from places that others have not discovered? To take unique shots?

I will be your private photographic guide. I speak fluent English, German and of course Czech.

How does it work?

We meet on the afternoon of the first day at the agreed location, check in and go shooting together. The following days we spend the whole time together. On the last day, we go for a morning shoot and after that we say goodbye.

We eat together, breakfast usually after the morning shoot, lunch, dinner depending on the time of year before or after the evening shoot. This is because the length of the day varies considerably throughout the year from 9 hours of sunshine to almost 16 hours.

There is no exact schedule of visits to each location. I'm a photographer and I make my decisions based on the current weather forecast and the time of year where we're going to shoot. I take you to the places where you are most likely to take exceptional photographs. Places I would go to photograph myself. After all, I'll be shooting with you and I want to enjoy it.

I will take into account your wishes and your technical equipment. There is no point in taking you to places where you are not capable of taking unique photographs with your equipment. That is why I offer the possibility of renting missing photographic equipment including lenses, tripods, etc.

Private Photo Guide

The price includes: a guide with detailed knowledge of the area, expert assistance with photography and composing
Price does not include: accommodation, food and drink, transport or insurance

The price does not change if you do not use the full range for organisational reasons.

A non-refundable deposit of EUR 590 must be paid by bank transfer or Paypal after booking the dates. This payment will guarantee that I will be on site on the agreed date. When we meet, you will pay the difference up to the full price in cash or on Paypal. Splitting the payment into a deposit and a top-up leaves room for a possible change in the number of participants or a change in the number of days.

Transport

Transport to Italy is at your selection. You can use any means of transport. The most common is a flight to Pisa International Airport, where you can rent a car. You just have to remember that in the time we spend together we will also be travelling together. Thus, there must be enough space in the car for up to 4 photographers including photographic equipment.

If you don't want to drive in Italy, I can pick you up at Pisa airport with a car or van and drive you around the whole time. However, this service needs to be arranged in advance and I will require a deposit for transportation.

Accommodation

The type and location of accommodation is your choice. I do not know your accommodation requirements, service level or price. I can recommend a suitable location and specific accommodation, just keep these things in mind:

- I need to stay in the same location, preferably in the same facility as you.
- the cost of my accommodation up to EUR 100 per night is my responsibility, anything above that is your responsibility
- hotels offer breakfast and dinner included in the price, but these are served at the time of the shoot

Personally, I prefer to stay at a private farm/house. It's great to get close to the local people, experience that connection with the romantic landscape, enjoy the peace and quiet.

Photo Gear Rental

I am ready to rent you the necessary photographic gear so that this service will save you time and improve your first experience with landscape photography with telephoto lenses. Canon bodies and stable tripods for various heights are also available. There's also lots of other useful stuff and bits and bobs that aren't described on the site. Just ask me.

I've been going to Tuscany since 2006, and a little later I started going to Cinque Terre. In recent years I spend 4 weeks a year photographing in these locations.
